WhatsApp, a messaging app owned by Meta, has begun rolling out its eagerly awaited chat and channel translation function to a restricted group of Android users who have signed up for its beta program.
The new feature is accessible to users of beta version 2.25.12.25, and a wider public distribution is anticipated soon, according to WABetaInfo.
Users may now translate texts sent in Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese, Hindi, and Russian from within the app thanks to this upgrade.

The creature’s ability to translate content on-device, even in the absence of an internet connection, is one of its main advantages.
Users must first download individual lingual packs or multi-language detector packs in order to utilize the program.

After installation, the translation toggle is located on the chat information page and may be turned on for both private and public discussions.
By long-pressing a message and choosing “Translate,” users may now choose to manually translate individual texts.
Due to its small size, the on-device solution could not be as accurate as cloud-based translation services; nonetheless, WhatsApp is asking users to provide input so that the tool can be improved. Crucially, user privacy is maintained as all feedback is handled without submitting the message itself to Meta.
In order to improve functionality before a broader release, beta testers who were given the update are urged to submit their experiences.
