Snapchat, it is time to uninstall the app

Snapchat has been a benchmark for Facebook to follow most of its features and implement not only on Facebook but also on WhatsApp and Instagram. I have been using Snapchat for almost three years now but now is the time to say “Goodbye”. Truth is, Instagram has presented these ideas in a much better way and is doing great in engaging its audience as compered to Snapchat.

The reason is pretty simple, Instagram is the next big thing and Snapchat has lost its flavour which once made this app the most sensational app and most popular among teens in particular. Instagram is clean, Instagram’s photo filters are natural and the very ability to make a picture stand out with its pre-set filters (which are amazing by the way) makes the App first choice as the recent (most downloaded) app trend stats on Play store and Apple Store.

The advantage of having business accounts and show listings with pictures also gives Instagram a big edge over Snapchat. The listings can be sponsored to attract more target audience and the the ability to send instant direct message to anyone enhances the app scope in a big way too.

What is the point of posting something and making it disappear after a certain point of time as the app does. Also you may disagree but the truth is Instagram stories is far ahead in the race and has actually stolen Snapchat’s audience as well.

TechCrunch’s Josh Constine points out some interesting stats as pointed by TNW in its post regarding same opinion:

  • Snapchat opens have decreased by at least 15 percent for influencers.
  • The average unique viewers per Snapchat Story has decreased about 40 percent.
  • Marketing platforms are seeing 28 percent higher open rates on Instagram Stories than Snapchat.
  • Influencers post 25 percent more on Instagram Stories than Snapchat.

Don’t get me wrong, its just my personal opinion stated with facts and it seems like the hype is about to end for this once most loved teen App.
