Share up to 10 photos and videos in one post on Instagram

Instagram users will no longer have to carefully decide which photos to post. It’s because the platform is bringing a major change by pushing out a photo album feature. Already available to advertisers since March 2015, this feature for the first time is being placed forward for general public.

Now Instagram is moving forward with a potentially game changing addition. The Facebook owned company will allow users to upload up to 10 photos and videos in a single post. The uploading method is pretty flexible. The users need to tap the new icon on the bottom right of images. Up to 10 photos can be selected. By tapping and holding an image, the order in which the images appear can be rearranged. Even each photo or video can be edited individually.

These images will be viewed by simply using swipe from side-to-side on the feed. Friends will be able to view with a slideshow or a photo carousel just like Facebook. But the uploading method is currently limited to a single location and caption as well as square aspect ratios. On the user’s feed, carousals will be marked by a series of dots under an image showing users can swipe through them.

For Instagram’s active users, this is a significant change that has ben brought to the app. The platform’s simple downward-scrolling interface has made it extremely popular among users. But for keeping its dominance in the image sharing apps, Instagram needs to expand its set of features by retaining its simplicity.
